Kou Piko Beauty was made to empower wahine and spread the message of body positivity. We are here to uplift and support indigenous women.
Why do you do what you do?
To bring positivity and uplift the wahine community.

When did you first think of starting this business?
In 2017
What type of experiences (education, work, life) were most important in shaping the skills you use to run your business today?
Photography skills and outdoor education shaped my passion to work with the community. The strong women in my life helped me gravitate towards my focus on wahine.

Growing

Not right now.
Are you working to get your business to the next stage in development? If so, where are you in that development?
Yes! I’m working to have an active online shop and eventually open a store.
CHALLENGES
What is the greatest challenge you have experienced as an entrepreneur?
Doing everything from scratch alone! It requires a lot of creativity and design, from creating content to use to having an aesthetic on social media and a website. It’s hard work!
How did you overcome that challenge? (Or are you still working through it?)
Still working on it but slowly getting the hang of it.

How do you envision your business in the future?
My products being available worldwide.
